Usually, you are told to keep it short and not drag on and on and on. Nevertheless, the phenomenon of using titles for books or articles in academia is well-known, and lots of people think the longer and more complicated their title the better. However, one organization tops it altogether. On the conference paper registration page of the EARLI European Practice-based and Practiotioner Research Conference on Learning and Instruction 2007, I saw the following instruction:

It is true: You can submit a title for a paper that is 60 words long! That is the entire paragraph above (minus 11 words).

Gewöhnlich heißt es ja, dass man es kurz und bündig machen und nicht alles in die Länge ziehen soll. Jedoch ist es ein altbekanntes Phänomen in der Wissenschaft, dass viele denken, je länger und komplizierter ihr Aufsatz- oder Buchtitel sind, desto besser. Allerdings übertrifft eine Organisation alles. Auf der Konferenzregistrierungsseite von EARLI European Practice-based and Practiotioner Research Conference on Learning and Instruction 2007 sah ich folgende Instruktion:

Es ist kein Witz: Man kann einen Beitrag einreichen, dessen Titel 60 Wörter haben kann! Das ist der komplette obere Abschnitt (minus 6 Wörter).
