Stop. Look (a)live – 2010-07-18
Usually, you see words like "Look right" or "Look left" – sometimes with an arrow pointing in the correct direction – on a crossway. However, I have never seen the "Stop, look live" before. It’s on the corner of Willis & Boulcott Streets in central Wellington.
First I thought it read "Stop, look alive" , but that didn’t really make a lot of sense. It dawned on me that the painters meant that one should look at the car traffic again when one stands right at the crossways and not rely on what one has seen from a few meters behind.
