@Arielion: :-) Yeah. The tree also looks great without the necklaces. Maybe I should make a second one just so that I could have it without serving a practical purpose. Marketing? I'm afraid not. Then it wouldn't be so special to me anymore.

That's really beautiful. It works as a stand-alone work of art even without the jewelry. You should market these.

Hi Jana. Your idea for the sunglasses sounds great. You seem to have a number of them. :-). A picture would be great.

I'm not doing lots of handicrafts, but once in a big while I get an itch and have to do something. I guess this tree would not have materialized had I not gone home simply due to the lack of facilities to create something like that.

This work looks marvellous, you should start a business there ;o)) This piece would also meet my taste 100% -- but I only have one necklace and two finger rings...
I have a great idea for a sunglasses-chain: just buy a chain with big metal rings and mount it on your wall, maybe in the shape of a big digital five or any other design, and then simply hang one sidepiece of your pair of glasses on the individual metal rings. I think I'll have one of those in my new place and then send you a picture of it.

Thanks Karen. I'm not in need of a wall mounted necklace hanger yet. ;-) I hope you can fix it with the right screws and anchors. Do you have a picture of it?

The main concern with my tree was that the piece of wood would not be too small and unstable. The Swiss artist had used heavy metal, but I knew that I couldn't do that and welding. Thus, I went for the wood. The piece of locust I found is quite heavy, but not overly so. It's a firm base, doesn't tilt and won't tip over. And my necklaces aren't that heavy. ;-)

Love this idea! I have the same problem - jewelry overload! Actually, my wall mounted overloaded necklace hanger fell down during the middle of the night last night and gave me a scare as it slammed to the floor. This stand looks like a good solution!
